This is a sampling from my new book with David Brin, "Contacting Aliens," now on stands from Bantam Books. It's a compendium of David's Uplift Universe aliens, patrons and clients, and their relationships. Who bites, who's your friend (they're few).

Orginally titled "The Terragen Agent's Handbook," the premise for the book is to be a guide for Terragen Agents traveling throughout the 5 Galaxies. It makes sure you're careful that you're not the entree if invited to lunch by certain races.
There were 130 B&W illustrations done for the book, covering all the major races in the Uplift Universe and dozens of the minor ones.
